The University of Oviedo (UNIOVI) is a public Higher Education and Research Institution located in Asturias (Spain). With around 18,000 undergraduate and 8,000 postgraduate students, and 2,000 research staff in over 30 faculties and engineering schools in three campuses, it is the main Research Centre in the region. In 2009, the University of Oviedo was recognized by the Spanish Education Ministry as Campus of International Excellence (CIE). Since then, about 95 research groups and teams from the University of Oviedo have promoted, supported, participated and developed since around 246 European R&D proposals from which 25 R&D projects have been funded by the European Commission, related to European calls such as H2020 and Erasmus+.
